Privacy Policy

OBX Crew is a group trip planning app built and operated by Mark Werre, an individual developer. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect
When you use OBX Crew, we collect the following:
Account information
- Your name and email address, provided during account creation.
Trip and planning data
- Trip names, dates, locations, and house details (wifi passwords, door codes, parking info).
- Meal planning: meal assignments, opt-outs, comments, and pizza orders.
- Room assignments: preferences and room assignments.
- Packing lists: items and claims.
- Grocery lists: items, quantities, and purchase status.
- Payments: amounts, notes, and who paid.
Group membership
- Which trips and groups you belong to.
We collect this data because it is the core functionality of the app — helping your group coordinate a trip together.
How Your Data Is Stored
- Our backend runs on Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure.
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore).
- A local cache is stored on your device to support offline access.
Third-Party Services

Data Sharing
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, solely for operating the app.
- Trip data is visible to other members of the same trip. This is how the app works — it is a group coordination tool.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time:
When you delete your account:
- Your profile, authentication account, and personal preferences are deleted immediately.
- Your trip membership records are anonymized to "Former Member" immediately.
- Payment records involving other users are retained for 30 days to allow for settlement, then anonymized.
- If you are the sole owner of any active trips, you must transfer ownership before deletion.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Data Retention
- Active accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account exists.
- Deleted accounts: Personal data is purged immediately. Payment records are anonymized after 30 days.
- Error logs (Sentry): Retained for 90 days per Sentry's default retention policy.
Children's Privacy
OBX Crew is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
- Delete your account in the app or by emailing us.
- Request a data export by emailing support@obxcrew.app.
- Correct inaccurate data by editing it directly in the app.
California Residents (CCPA)
- Right to know what personal information we collect — described in this policy.
- Right to delete your personal information — available in-app or by email.
- Right to opt-out of sale — we do not sell personal information.
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL. If we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification.
